Payment FAQ

Stargate Ventures  accepts many different forms of payment. Our preferred method is Visa or MasterCard. We will accept your credit card over the phone. If you prefer not to give us your credit card information, or if you do not have a credit card, we have set up an account with PayPal.   There you can use your credit card, or your checking account to send us payment for your server. Our PayPal account is registered as wholesale@mod-home.com .  If you do not have a credit card, and do not wish to set up an account with PayPal, you can send us any form of guaranteed check (Bank, Cashier's, Certified, Traveler's). We also accept money orders. We DO NOT accept personal checks.  If you are paying by certified check or money order you will be required to pay for 3 months in advance.  Stargate Ventures will not accept checks or money orders for single months at a time. Of course the usual discounts apply for 3 month prepay.  10% discount on 16 man servers and 15% discount on all other sized servers.  All payments tendered should be made payable to "Stargate Ventures Inc." and sent to our formal billing address of:

2) How long till my server goes online?

It really depends on the method of payment you select.

Credit card is fastest. Assuming we have capacity, your server can be online immediately after receiving and processing your credit card.

PayPal is the next quickest option. As soon as we receive verification that your payment has been credited to our account with PayPal, we will activate your server.  ( Please note...  PayPal transactions are not considered complete, until the funds have physically cleared our own bank account.  This process can take from 2 to 5 business days, in most cases it is 3...)

Guaranteed check is the slowest option of course. For obvious reasons, we simply cannot and will not activate your server until we have received your check and depending on where you live will determine how long it takes to get it to us. There are no exceptions to this policy. 

Please note that if you choose any form of payment other than credit card, your funds must be posted before your next billing cycle.  It is the customers responsibility to know your billing cycle.  You will not receive any notices regarding this.  Failure to make payment by your billing date will result in server termination no less than 24 hours following your cycle date.  A fee of $25.00 will be required after that in order to bring your server back online.  All client account info and server builds are kept in the system for 1 week.  If you attempt to re activate your server after this time frame, we will not be able to provide you with any back up from your original config.....

NEVER! This is the most ridiculous and auspicious of all the sub standard hosting company tricks. A low rental price but charges after the first X GB of transfer. If you run a public server, and your server becomes popular, you can easily generate over 100 GB of transfer a month.  Beware of the pay as you use arrangements. Stargate Ventures will NEVER charge you for the amount of  bandwidth you use.

No. Once you rent a server from us, your rental period begins. It ends when you decide you no longer want to have a server with us. We cannot pause your rental for any reason, be it vacation, school, bad mod or server patch, clan squabbles, etc. If you decide you no longer want your server, and your rental period is not yet up, you can request a refund.

What setup fee?  The Only time you would ever pay out set up fee, is if your server cycles out and we take it down for non payment and you come back to us in the same 30 days requesting it's re activation.

Yes, if it is within 30 days.  The very day you leave The Stargate  continuum , your server folder is deleted on scheduled cancellations. Make sure that you get all of your files off the server that you want to keep before you decide to end your server rental with us. If you later decide to come back within 30 days, we will charge you a $25.00 set up fee for the inconvenience.

Sure. It makes no difference to us, however payment can only be accepted from one person.

Stargate Ventures does not want to be put into a position where we have to referee a disagreement between parties who jointly rent a server. That is why we will not split the bill in multiple payments.  One game server, one payment, one person, one credit card. This way we avoid any conflict or miscommunications regarding payment and payment times or balances or the administrative decisions made with that server.

Until we hear from you via telephone or email that you no longer need our services, we will automatically continue charging your credit card on file at the beginning of each billing cycle. Generally, we do not notify you before the end of your term.  If you require hard copy invoicing, we can provide it for your records but we do not and will not send out renewal notices.  You are given your billing cycle date when you set up your account and it is your responsibility to remember that date and any payments that need to be sent out prior to it.  If you are not on credit card billing it is very important to know your cycle date.  Servers that go unpaid for any longer than 24 hours will be terminated without notice and a $25.00 service fee will be imposed if you wish to have it reset.

If for any reason you are dissatisfied with your service, or simply no longer want your own server, you may request a refund of the remaining portion of your rental, no questions asked. Our refund policy is as follows:

If you are simply wanting to end service under your normal billing cycle, you must notify us at least 5 business days in advance of your cycle date in order to be removed from the auto billing system and to avoid any cancellation charges..  Any servers canceling on or within 5 business days of the servers cycle date, will be subject to a $25.00 cancellation fee. There will be absolutely  no exceptions to this rule. If you plan to cancel your server you must do so more than 5 business days in advance of your cycle date.

If you do decide to cancel your server outside the properly  allotted time frame we have stated above and you are on a month to month plan, you will receive the balance remaining on your monthly payment refunded to you, less a $25.00 service fee for early termination. You will not receive a refund credit for any free days awarded under our Service Level Agreement.  Any other one time charges, are also non-refundable you will simply be billed for the days you did use.

If you are on a 3 month prepay, we will determine the number of days you utilized our service, and multiply that by the month to month daily rate for your server. That amount, plus a $25.00 service fee for early termination, will be subtracted from your 3 month prepay and refunded to you. 

You will not receive a refund credit for any free days awarded under our Service Level Agreement. All one time charges are non-refundable.

Credits requested for server down time will only be awarded if the down time is as a result of network or hardware failure on the part of Stargate Ventures Inc's.  Hung servers, crashed servers, or servers accidentally shutdown by their operators with the "quit" command, do not qualify.  We maintain a 24 hour support line in the event that these occurrences may happen and turn over time is generally 10 minutes.  Stargate Ventures Inc. is not responsible for monitoring uptime on individual servers.
